Describe the product and the scope
Explain what the packaging needs to hold and how it will be used. Include dimensions with units and identify whether they describe the product or the box. Mention additional items such as a leaflet, a discovery vial or a gift card.
State whether the enquiry is for the outer box only, a box with an insert, or a coordinated set. This helps keep quotations for different proposals comparable.
Share quantity and design references
Provide the expected order quantity or a useful range. If it is not decided, say so. Minimum quantities and production schedules need to be discussed against the actual structure, materials and finishing; a single number cannot describe every project.
A logo file and a few references can explain the visual direction. If artwork is ready, identify its version and any colours or finishes that need particular attention. Do not assume that a photograph communicates every material or production detail.
Clarify sampling and delivery needs
Tell the supplier what the sample needs to confirm: fit, structure, colour, surface feel or a combination. Agree which details the sample represents before using it as a production reference.
Include the intended delivery country and any target date. Separate a preferred arrival date from a confirmed production commitment, and discuss packing and transport requirements alongside the box itself.
